Health benefits of a vegetarian diet?

Before we proceed, it is important to understand the difference between a vegetarian diet, which excludes only meat, and one that also excludes all animal products.

1. There is no shortage of vitamins and minerals.

Vegetarians do not suffer from a deficiency. The only substance that is found exclusively in animal products and is not found in vegetables, fruits, and grains is "vitamin B12", but vegetarians can supply this vitamin from eggs, cheese, or milk.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is not limited to vegetarians only, because nearly 40% of the French population, for example, suffers from this deficiency, including people who eat meat, according to what was reported on the French side, "C News". By excluding meat, you should rethink your health system, especially including the maximum number of fruits, vegetables, and various grains in your meals and not overeating pizza and pasta. This is what most people do not do.

2. Energy

Contrary to popular belief, vegetables, fruits, legumes, and grains are more effective than meat in providing us with energy, and the carbohydrates in them are the best fuel for the body and muscles. Athletes explain that they have switched to a vegetarian diet to improve their performance, for example, Lewis Hamilton (Formula One driver), Serena Williams (tennis player), and Kyrie Irving (basketball player).

 3. Better Recovery

Athletes also prefer to follow a vegetarian diet because it allows them to recover faster from a heavy effort, and even to prevent injuries or treat them more quickly. This is because a vegetarian diet is rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation in the body.

4. The digestive process of the best

plants are rich in fiber, which facilitates intestinal transit. It also contains prebiotics, which improves the intestinal microbial flora. Thus, the main sources of prebiotics are inulin produced by plants, legumes, and some fruits as well as whole grains.

5. Weight loss:

Vegetarian food, through its preference for vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes, is less calorie and contains less fat than the "classic" diet, which focuses on meat. A vegetarian diet, rich in fiber, thus increases the feeling of satiety and encourages not overeating.

It contains a low percentage of saturated fats, and it also helps prevent cardiovascular disease, cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes. This system also helps, as recent studies have shown, to better control blood sugar levels. But the most important thing is to have the will to avoid overeating the bread, dough, and sweets.
