The 30s

Maintaining your fitness is very important and lifestyle affects your body. Perform an annual check: check your blood pressure, cholesterol, and fat levels. Eat nutritious foods and keep exercising, the activity helps keep your weight under control.

• Stay physically and mentally active, do brisk walking or try cycling. Solve Sudoku, puzzles, crossword puzzles, play cards with your friends or sign up to learn something new like a foreign language, yoga, or woodcarving.

• Challenge yourself and keep learning new things.

• Drink moderately. Have at least three days, each week, without alcohol.

• Socialize as much as possible. You laugh a lot and loudly.

• Do you have a problem? Talk to your doctor or counselor who will be able to help you.

By now you will know that there is an important link between your health and your lifestyle. It is essential to keep well both physically and mentally. Have an annual health check.

Keep your weight at a normal level and keep your activity levels as high as is safe for you. Eat nutritious foods and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Many men in their 70s are affected by depression and emotional problems as they lose some of their independence. Talk to your family, your partner, or your doctor if you feel depressed.

Remember it is never too late to improve your diet.
